It is inspired by the lovely lily pond at the Botanical Gardens above Boca de Tomatlan, Mexico. Nan taught in this little town near Puerto Vallarta and visited the botanical gardens many times. The lily pond was actually quite small, and the artist loved the subject matter, which was chock full of life.
