The history of Andal sea buckthorn dates back to the end of the 19th century. During this period alcohol smuggling across the Baltic Sea to Sweden flourished. Smuggler Carl Petter Andersson found himself in rough seas on his smuggling boat Andal, with the smuggled alcohol mixed with fresh sea buckthorn juice that Anderson
