From 1956 to 1994, Beppe Colla and his brother Tino ran Prunotto, and they did nothing less than reshape modern Barolo, inspired by Burgundy to bottle the first single vineyard Barolo (Bussia, in 1961). Their style was uncompromisingly traditional: long macerations, large Slavonian botti, fruit and soil first, never the cellar. This 1980 Riserva carries that signature
