On September 22nd is the first JoomlaCamp Chicago. Another first, is that our site was built entirely by a Danico Enterprises intern, Alisha.
She was a graduating senior from a local high school. Alisha was a recommendation from past intern Mary, who as of this past Spring completed her first year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Alisha came with some coding skills, having been involved in her school’s Robotics Club, but she’d not used a CMS or content Management Systems. During Alisha’s time at Danico she built two sites, one in WordPress and one in Joomla - this one, the JoomlaCamp Chicago site.
She worked through the entire process from gathering requirements through launch and tuning. Alisha even selected the images. Her client was me, SD and I’m a pretty tough customer to work with. Some challenges were done for teaching moments and others were just things that came up.
I think Alisha did a great job and wish her much success as she enters her freshman year at MIT.

But before you go, tell us what you think of the site and better yet REGISTER to join us at JoomlaCamp Chicago Saturday, September 22.
Hi!
Welcome to our new site!
We are passionate about growing our Joomla! community. To do this we work with building new Joomlers. This site, the one you're on right now was done by intern, Alisha. Her assignment was to update the site for JoomlaCamp. Alisha, was new to Joomla! She had not heard about it until she arrived her first day at Danico Enterprises' office. From interviewing the client (me in this case) to the final launch, was all Alisha.
We're very pleased with her progress. Come back to the site often as we add more information about our upcoming events.
Hey Joomlers!
As you may have heard the next JoomlaDay Chicago is not until 2019. In the meantime, we didn't want you miss engaging with you about all things Joomla! and Joomla adjacent topics, so after talking with other user groups around the country, we thought JoomlaCamp was a great way to do just that.
JoomlaCamp Chicago is Saturday, September 22 from 9 am to 3 pm.
JoomlaCamp Chicago can be described as an unstructured JoomlaDay. As a planner it is a bit unnerving for me to not know exactly what will happen with the day, but it is also exciting to be able to address immediate and top of mind questions and challenges that YOU, our fellow Joomlers have.
We have reached out some Joomlers who would be great as mentors, aka solution facilitators. However, we don't know everyone. If you'd like to throw your name into ring, let us know.
