May 2020 Update

Wow! The last couple of months have been beyond different with stay-at-home orders, mandatory masks, and such.  JoomlaDay Chicago is still planned for this October.  We are hopeful that we will be able to gather together in-person, but if not, we will gather online.  To that end, here's our May Update.

Speaker Update 

We are pleased to announce the addition of Johan Janssens to our roster of speakers. 

Johan Janssens is a Belgian web architect, tech entrepreneur, and free software advocate. In the past 15 years, Johan has spent most of his time creating and advocating free and open-source software and helping evolve the world wide web.

Johan is most known as a co-founder and lead developer of Joomla, since founding Joomla he contributed in many different roles to the project. Outside the project, Johan leads the team at Joomlatools, home of DOCman, one of the most popular Joomla extensions.

Johan is a firm believer in sharing and collaboration, in spreading good ideas and in the power of technology to make the world a better place. He continually pushes the people around him to be creative and connect the dots.

Johan will be discussing their newest offering, Joomlatools Pages, a page generator for Joomla

Keynote Speaker: Brian Mitchell, Joomla! President 

Brian Mitchell, Joomla! President, InterGen Web Solutions

Joomla! President, Brian Mitchell, is this year's Keynote Speaker. Brian is the founder and president of interGen web solutions in Milwaukee, WI. Brian is responsible for business operations, strategic direction, business development and everything in between. He has been a Joomla! volunteer for years, serving on the Resource Directory, Joomla! Volunteer Engagement and Conflict Resolution Teams. Before being elected as president, Brian served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer. He has over 20 years of business experience in the field of website development. Brian loves his family and is always on the lookout for the next great book on leadership and business principles.
